CALCULATION OF FASTENING PLATES IN TAILWATER POOL OF LAND RECLAMATION HYDROTECHNICAL STRUCTURES FOR INCREASING THEIR OPERATIONAL RELIABILITY (overview)

Abstract:

The purpose of the research was to calculate the fastening plates in the tailwater pools of reclamation hydraulic structures to increase their operational reliability. Throughout the period of human existence and agricultural crops cultivation, irrigation of agricultural crops with irrigation systems was used (starting with the simplest and up to the present time reinforcing them with hydraulic structures for various purposes). The operating experience of reclamation systems in various countries of the world (including Russia) showed that reliability issues were reflected to some extent in irrigation systems reports and scientific publications. They found specific application for land reclamation facilities (in the form of a reliability theory) in the last decades of the last century. Elements of the theory of reliability are reflected in Russian and foreign scientists papers where events are divided into “probable” and “unlikely”. Such division has ceased to satisfy both designers and developers, who need quantitative methods for studying reliability in modern times. The used hydraulic structures on the diversion systems are the same as on the irrigation systems of the flat terrain. The difference is that the diversion systems are built in the piedmont and mountainous regions of the Russian Federation, where the terrain has sharp fractures. The material for achieving this goal were theoretical dependencies in scientific and educational literature with their transformation using the mathematical apparatus. In a methodological sense, to determine the reliable fixing strength of the irrigation water pipelines with reinforced concrete plates, the recommendations of codes of practice, reference data and methodological recommendations were used. The novelty of these studies lies in the method of calculation, taking into account the dynamic loads with the addition of additional kinetic pressure. Kinetic pressure significantly affects the stability of the fixing plates of the downstream hydraulic structure when the operating water discharge pass through it.
