DETERMINATION OF AVERAGE MOISTURE OF INSIDE-CONTOUR DRIP HUMIDIFIED SOIL SPACE

Abstract:

The purpose of the study is the development of the calculation method of the average and absolute values of the zone soil moisture levels within the moisture contours formed in the sub-drip soil space during drip irrigation. The soil moisture content and its zone distribution within the local single drip moisture contours of soil-ground depth affect largely the conditions of water, nutrient and air regimes of plant root system operating and ultimately their development and productivity. To control the plant roots growth and operating soil conditions it is necessary to predict the soil humidity indicators within the zones of its wetting for different soil, phytosoil and technological conditions of drip irrigation. Until now, such prediction is carried out only for private and experimentally studied conditions of contour formation, and there is no generally accepted methodology for carrying out appropriate calculations to assess the inside-contour distribution of moisture indicators of a moistened soil space in spite of increasing demands. The basis for the method development is the data of the authors' experimental (full-scale and laboratory) studies of soil drip moisture contours carried out for a wide range of soil conditions of drip irrigation. Measurements and recording of the geometric and moisture parameters of soil moisture contours were carried out in accordance with the generally accepted research procedures. As a result of research, the experimental dependencies for determining and developing a method for predicting the soil drip moisture contours parameters were obtained which has been brought to the level of a computer software and allows to predict the outline, geometric and moisture parameters of drip humidification zones of the subsoil soil space with acceptable accuracy.
