INTEGRATED UTILIZATION OF LIQUID CATTLE MANURE WITH DRIP IRIGATION

Abstract:

The aim of the research was to create a technology for a complete and year-round utilization of animal waste for more efficient and sustainable development of the livestock industry through an integrated approach to animal waste management in agriculture. The method of research is a system analysis of such technological operations as manure transportation, hydraulic wash off, disinfection, quarantine, homogenization, filtration of a homogenized mixture, supply to waste division by separation and separation of solids and liquids fractions. The subject of research was the regimes of waste preparation for disposal within the territory of livestock farms. The study material is a liquid fraction of manure prepared for transportation from a storage tank of a pumping station to irrigation fields. As a result of research a complex scheme for preparing the cattle manure liquid fraction for disposal by sprinkling, in which the liquid fraction is separated from solids by separation, accumulated in bioreactors and supplied to irrigation fields by the pump station, has been developed. The developed technology of complete and year-round utilization of animal waste allows eliminating completely the lagoon for manure disposal, reducing the period of liquid fraction accumulation to three months. The utilization technology application ensures the introduction of nutrients and dissolved organics into soil over the area evenly by a sprinkler machine evenly without additional costs, which include the cost for cleaning and preparing the lagoons for the next season to accumulate manure, transport it to the fields, leveling and itroduction into the soil. At the same time, the rates of application of mineral fertilizers to the fields are reduced: nitrogen by 20 %, potassium by 80–100 %. In irrigation with purified and diluted wastewater from livestock farms, crop yields increase by 10–20 %.
